Masnoon Duas

Many thanks for your query. It is not essential at all to say a specific dua or to say them in Arabic. We can pray to Allah in our own words and in any language.
 
Masnoon dua are the ones that are reported to be said by prophet Muhammad pbuh. It is because of the immense love for prophet Muhammad pbuh,  that Muslims try and recite the prayers he used to make. This is also based on the belief, that the messenger of Allah's way of prayer is the most appropriate way to ask for Allah's help, Guidance and Mercy.

Albeit, we have the option of either learning their translation and reciting them or asking Allah in our own language and in our own words.
