Exclusive Miracle of Jesus
Question:
We know that, Jesus give advise starting at the first day, I mean when he was a new born, he started talking "miracle". Do you know another priest, who was talking at newborn before Jesus?
Answer:
No. According to my information no other prophet of God, besides Jesus (pbuh) spoke to people at such an early stage in his life. This "miracle", indeed seems to be an exclusive "miracle" of Jesus (pbuh). However, by the same token, I am not even aware of any prophet besides Moses (pbuh), whose staff could do all that Moses' staff did or who showed the nine signs that Moses showed. Thus, if you would look closely at the "miracles" of the prophets of God, you are likely to see that these "miracles", in a way, were quite distinct from the miracles of other prophets.
The kind of miracle that a particular prophet was given by God greatly depended on the circumstances in which the particular prophet was sent and in which he was to deliver the message of God. For instance, one of the major reasons for giving Jesus (pbuh) the referred miracle (of talking immediately after birth) seems to be the circumstances of Jesus' birth. We know that when Mary (pbuh) gave birth to Jesus (pbuh), she was a virgin (according to the Qur'an an unmarried virgin), It is obvious that in the absence of a clear sign of her chastity, all those around her would have blamed her for unchaste behaviour. It was under these circumstances that God gave Jesus (pbuh) the referred sign, which not only was evidence for the prophethood of Jesus (according to the Qur'an), but also a miraculous sign of the chastity of his mother.
Thus, in my opinion, the referred sign was indeed exclusive to Jesus (pbuh) but so were the circumstances of being born to a virgin1.
