Question:
Let us suppose that there are two persons of the same age. Both do every "gunah" (sin) possible except "shirk" (polytheism). Then suppose again, one person dies in the age of 30 years. The other person learns lesson from the death of other and do "Astaghfar". After that he becomes obedient to Allah and lives until 70 years. I want to ask, is this not unjust with the person who dies early?

Answer:
Many thanks for your query. Every individual has been given a specified time, an opportunity to learn and perform good deeds. How he uses his allocated time and opportunities will determine his fate. In other words, our accountability will depend upon our knowledge and our ability to use our opportunities. Thus, the accountability of a scholar will be much more strict as compared to an ordinary man and likewise, his mistakes judged much more microscopically.
According to the Qur'an, "God does not burden a person beyond his capacity. [It is His law that] he alone will get what he earned and he alone will pay for what he did". ( 2:286)
