Significance of Head Covering

Question:

I have heard that it is recommended for men and women to keep their heads covered at all times. I have also heard that angels do not enter a place where women keep their heads uncovered. Moreover, it has been advised to cover head while going to the restroom. Can you please validate these concepts in the light of Islamic scriptures.

Many thanks for your query. In the opinion of our scholars, women are advised by the Qur'an to extend their head cover to cover their bosoms in front of Na-Mahram. Anything further than this cannot be considered as religious obligation. Most certainly women covering their head all the time otherwise angels won't enter and men covering their heads do not have any reliable basis even in ahadith.
