Nail Polish & Wudhu
Question:
If I do wudhu and then apply nail polish and then keep refreshing the wuzu over the nail polish for the rest of the day - is my wuzu valid?
What is the source of nail polish causing Wudhu to be invalid?

Answer:
Salaam sister
Many thanks for your query. In the opinion of our scholars a woman can apply nail polish and make ablution for her prayers. If she wants to be extra careful, she can make sure that her nails are cleaned before applying nail polish. The directive of shariah requires washing hands and arms only.
The opinion of scholars in this matter is based on Qiyas, as this matter has not been addressed in Quran and Sunnah. So there can be a difference of opinion among scholars.
I enclose links from our sister web sites that provide further information on this issue.
